🚨 Is an Altseason coming?

An Altseason is the golden period every crypto investor dreams about.
Imagine a time where not just the giants like Bitcoin and Ethereum, but EVERY cryptocurrency—from the big names to the very small ones—experiences significant gains.
Green everywhere 🟢.
This exciting time occurs during bull runs, and as we approach 2025, the next one could be just on the horizon.
How To Spot An Altseason?

Defining an Altseason precisely is challenging due to varying opinions within the community.
Basically here is how it works:
Phase 1: Flow of money moves into Bitcoin causing prices to soar.
Phase 2: Money flows into Ethereum and it is outperforming Bitcoin.
Phase 3: Money flows into large cap altcoins and they are going parabolic.
Phase 4: Large, Mid, Low caps all tend to pump around the same time.
As of now, we are in Phase 1, as only Bitcoin has performed well this year.
Keep an eye on Ethereum. Once it starts performing well and outperforming Bitcoin, we will have entered Phase 2.
One method also suggests that an Altseason occurs when 75% of the top 50 cryptocurrencies outperform Bitcoin over a 90-day period.
Currently, this figure stands at 40%, indicating that we are not yet in an Altseason.
Optimistic Indicators Suggesting an Impending Altseason

Favorable Macroeconomic Conditions:
The global economic climate is improving for risky assets like cryptocurrencies. Factors like Federal Reserve rate cuts, China’s market liquidity injections, and the upcoming US presidential elections could kickstart the next Altseason.
Declining Bitcoin Dominance:
Bitcoin's market dominance, which measures its share relative to the total cryptocurrency market capitalization, has been decreasing after a period of growth. A reduction in Bitcoin dominance often signals that investors are reallocating funds into altcoins, potentially setting the stage for an Altseason.
Emergence of Altcoin ETFs:
Following the success of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, there is growing anticipation for altcoin ETFs. The approval of such financial products would make it easier for institutional investors to access altcoins, potentially bringing significant new capital into the altcoin market.
Strong Performance of Specific Altcoins:
While Bitcoin has delivered impressive returns, certain altcoins like Kaspa, BitTensor, Sui, and Aptos have outperformed it. These notable gains could encourage investors to diversify their portfolios by including high-potential altcoins.
Positive Technical Indicators:
Technical analysis tools like the Relative Strength Index (RSI) suggest that altcoins are currently in an oversold condition, indicating a potential upward reversal. Another pattern, the Broadening Wedge, implies the end of a weakening phase for altcoins, hinting at possible future growth.
Accumulation of Stablecoins:
An increase in stablecoin holdings indicates that investors are keeping substantial capital on the sidelines, ready to enter the cryptocurrency market. This "dry powder" could be deployed into altcoins when market conditions become favorable.
Rising Daily Active Users:
The number of daily active users on blockchain networks continues to grow, demonstrating increasing adoption of blockchain technology. This sustained growth in user activity is a positive sign for the long-term health of the cryptocurrency market.
Pessimistic Indicators Suggesting We Are Not There Yet

Lack of Retail Interest:
Indicators like the ranking of cryptocurrency apps in app stores and the volume of Google searches for terms like "Bitcoin" and "cryptocurrency" show that general public interest remains low. Retail participation is often a key driver of significant market rallies and Altseasons.
Market Fragmentation:
The proliferation of new cryptocurrency projects and tokens has diluted investor attention and capital. With an overwhelming number of options, it's challenging for individual projects to attract substantial investment, which could slow the overall market momentum.
Increased Investor Caution:
Following the collapse of many projects launched during the 2021 boom, investors have become more vigilant. There is a tendency to take profits earlier and avoid holding onto investments for too long, which could shorten the duration of any potential Altseason.
Backlog of Projects Awaiting Launch:
Many projects have delayed their token launches, waiting for more favorable market conditions. When these tokens hit the market, the sudden surge in supply could outpace demand, diluting liquidity.
We at theCryptoPicks believe a strong Altseason is on its way and inevitable.
The big question is: When will it happen?
It's essential to recognize that the current market dynamics differ significantly from those of 2021 and that investors should approach the market with caution and not relying solely on historical patterns.
Diversification across promising sectors and projects, especially those aligned with current trends (ex: real-world asset tokenization, artificial intelligence…) may offer better opportunities.
Take care,
